Announcing FCHI 2027-28 Fellowships

The Fox Center is pleased to announce that applications for our 2027-28 fellowships are now open!
This year, we're changing how themes work for our fellowships. Only the research of applicants for our Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowships needs to engage directly with the theme of Humanities Plural. Our other fellowships do not require that applicants' projects align with the theme, but they should briefly address how their project relates to significant methodological, theoretical, or conceptual issues in the humanities.
We have a wide range of fellowships available:
For our Faculty Fellowship, we invite applications from tenured Emory faculty in any humanistic field. The deadline is December 7, 2026. Apply here.
For our Visiting Faculty Fellowship, we invite applications from faculty at any level in any humanistic field from Atlanta-area institutions of higher education. The deadline is January 18, 2027. Apply here.
For our Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowship, we invite applications from recent PhD graduates from any university in any humanistic field. Fellows are appointed for one year with the possibility of renewal for an additional year. The theme for this year's fellowship is "Humanities Plural" and alignment with the theme is a criterion for selection. The deadline isDecember 7, 2026. Apply here.
For our NEH Postdoctoral Fellowship in Poetics, we invite applications from recent PhD graduates whose research is on poetry and/or poetics. We are especially eager to support research projects which make use of Emory University's archival holdings in poetry. Fellows are appointed for one year with the possibility of renewal for an additional year. The deadline isDecember 7, 2026. Apply here.
For our Dissertation Completion Fellowship, applications from current Emory graduate students in any humanistic field are welcome. The deadline is November 18th, 2026. Apply here.
For our Humanities Pathways Fellowship, we invite applications from current Emory graduate students in any humanistic field who are interested in a range of career opportunities both inside and outside of higher education. The deadline is November 18th, 2026. Apply here.
