Adelaide Rosene Undergraduate Humanities Honors Fellow
Adelaide Rosene is a senior studying history with a concentration in Law, Economics, and Human Rights, and a minor in English.
Her thesis project titled “Shadows of Exclusion: The Legacy of Sundown Towns In Wisconsin” examines how communities enforced racial segregation through policing and discrimination in housing. Her work investigates newspapers and city records to highlight a neglected history of exclusion and resistance in the place where she grew up. Adelaide conducted archival research for her project at the Wisconsin Historical Society with support from the Bell I. Wiley Prize and the Theodore H. Jack Award from the Department of History. Alongside her previous work as a Manuscript Archives Intern at the Atlanta History Center, her project underscores her passion for public history and education.
