Major Works Review Grants
The Fox Center announces Major Works Review Grants for Emory faculty in the humanities and humanistic social sciences starting this fall. Major Works Review Grants are available to faculty as they prepare a book manuscript for publication or a major work of art for performance, screening, or exhibition.
The external reviewer will provide a detailed “arms-length” review of the work, with constructive criticism and suggestions for placing the work with publishers. The Fox Center will provide a $1000 stipend for the external reviewer. When suggesting candidates to serve as external reviewers, please include detailed academic bios as well as the rationale for the selection as a reviewer. Please also include any contact or engagement you have had with the proposed reviewer. Previous advisors, mentors, and PhD committee members are ineligible to serve as external reviewers. Please note that a completed manuscript or major work must be available to the reviewer six weeks prior to the meeting.
Grants are open to full-time tenured and tenure-track faculty in the humanities and humanistic social sciences with manuscripts nearing completion. Preference will be given to tenure-track faculty who will engage an external reviewer no later than their third year.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the academic year.
