Yazi ZhengUndergraduate Humanities Honors Fellow
Yazi Zheng is a senior double majoring in Comparative Literature and Mathematics.
She is currently working on an honor thesis in Comparative Literature that explores the intersection between personal space and public sphere in women’s writing. Starting by analyzing spaces of confinement in women’s writing across different culture, this project seeks to raise questions about how women are alienated from political discourses, and how they mobilize this isolation as a political gesture to destabilize the rigid binary between the personal and the public, social norm, and the hierarchy of power.
