Verónica Zebadúa-YáñezVisiting Fellow
Verónica Zebadúa-Yáñez is an Assistant Professor of Comparative Women’s Studies at Spelman College.
Her research interests include feminist political theory, decolonial and transnational feminisms, and the politics of women’s and LGBTI rights. Her current research examines the seldom-studied archive of feminist practices of violence. During the fellowship term, she will work on a book manuscript titled Visions of Freedom: The Plural Genres of Feminist Political Theory. The project addresses the question of who is authorized to produce theory and what counts as such, democratizing the manner and sources from which theorizing is performed and producing a genre-bending political theory of freedom. To this end, the project engages French, Italian, and decolonial feminist political theory and a diversity of genres, including literature, manifestos, and protest performance.
